Sway is a collaborative project in Barry, tethered to the town’s hyper-tidal waters. Barry sits on the coast of south Wales, between an estuary and the sea. Alongside these bodies of water, Sway proposes collective conversations on attachments, entanglements, ways of holding, communing and collective-making across the local landscape.
The project will host artists, researchers, writers and residents in multidisciplinary dialogues, public programmes and other activities. Beginning with equinoctial spring tides in March 2022, Sway will unfold slowly, working in hydrological time at the shore.
